Prof. Dr. Bi Shi

        Prof. Dr. Bi Shi(China), male, present position: director of National Engineering Laboratory for Clean Technology of Leather Manufacture, Sichuan University.

        Research interested in tanning chemistry, leather chemicals, clean technology of leather production, reutilization of tannery wastes, as well as interdisciplinary research. Bi Shi and his research group have completed 65 research projects in these fields, including 35 projects supported by central or local government, and 30 research projects sponsored by enterprises.

        With these work, a series of valuable technologies were developed and applied in more than thousand of tanneries and chemical companies in China in past 20 years. The representative technologies which influenced the development of Chinese leather industry were authorized 50 patents and awarded by government / organization, such as National Technical Invention Award in 1993 and 2015, National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology in 2000, Dupont Award for Scientific and Technical Innovation in 2000, and so on.

        In addition, theoretical contributions included 5 books and 522 papers published, among which 230 papers in international journals (in English) and 292 papers in Chinese journals (in Chinese with English abstract), mainly as corresponding author.
